I love the way this one turned out!
I am going to do a few more of these, but it is time to move onto some new things!
Another Paper Clay doll in the works. I am exploring the use of pencils on the face and I do like the softness. Like a drawing. My sculptures never turn out the way I want them to, but I just have to keep working at it.
I love working with Paper Clay, but it is challenging, but maybe that is why I like it. I am learning that even though you have sculpted the face, when it is hardened, if you do not like the results by just taking a few tools you can carve into it and if that does not work take the face off and start all over.
Fun!
To say that your new creation is exquisite is an understatement!!!! Hugs, Terri xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou are sooooo gifted. Really gorgeous.

the face is great, I love paper clay too, but I have never used anything else, just working with clay is hard for a thread and needle girl
ReplyDeleteI'll have to try pencils it looks so pretty
thanks for sharing

How beautiful she turned out! I love the detailing on the bottom of her dress. Your face of your paper clay doll is lovely - can't wait to see the rest of her. :) Theresa
ReplyDeleteLove your paper clay girl. I like working with paper clay, but don't really love it. It is forgiving and certainly receptive to a "do over". Remember the Gold Dragon that I did? That took such a long time to dry, that I have stayed away from that type of clay since then. I do love the texture, though. Anxious to see how your doll shapes up. Take care and enjoy the week. Susan
ReplyDeleteI always fall in love again with your paper dolls and the paper clay doll is very beautiful also!

Wow, how gorgeous! I fall in love all over again each time I see another doll of yours.

When you say paper clay do you mean paper mache? A friend of mine has started using this medium.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!! She is going to be so awesome..gorgoeus.

Kim, I like how you created the extra "ruffles" around the bottom of the skirt, added the feathers to her bustle and did the hat on this paper doll. She is striking!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried pencils on any paperclay pieces I've done (although haven't done any in several years). I love the look! I think I prefer it to paint.
